The Experience
Simply Sweet Retreats are designed to feel like stepping into a cozy world created especially for book lovers. Each weekend offers a chance to slow down, relax, and enjoy stories, creativity, and connection in a warm, welcoming space.
Whether spending time reading in a quiet corner, joining in on activities, or simply enjoying the company of fellow guests, every moment is meant to feel restorative and unhurried. Some guests come with friends, others arrive solo—but all are welcomed into a community built around a shared love of books.
At Simply Sweet Retreats, the goal is simple: to create a peaceful escape where you can relax, recharge, and enjoy the joy of stories.
Food & Dining
Food is part of the experience at Simply Sweet Retreats. Each retreat includes thoughtfully prepared meals, snacks, and a few sweet touches along the way. From cozy breakfasts to shared dinners, everything is designed to feel welcoming, relaxed, and just a little bit special.
Meals are either prepared by a ServSafe Certified Food Manager or catered from trusted local restaurants, ensuring both quality and care. As a classically trained pastry chef, Simply Sweet Retreats founder, Elaina Kellogg, also loves incorporating homemade desserts and baked treats to add a signature “Simply Sweet” touch to each weekend.
Simply Sweet Retreats aims to accommodate common dietary needs, allergies, and food restrictions whenever possible with advance notice. Guests are encouraged to share any dietary information during registration, and those with specific questions are always welcome to reach out via email to confirm whether their needs can be accommodated.
Menus may occasionally reflect the theme or featured book of the retreat, adding a fun and immersive element to your stay. For details on meals and accommodations for dietary needs, please refer to your specific retreat page.
Comfortable Accommodations
Simply Sweet Retreats are hosted in cozy, thoughtfully selected venues designed for rest, connection, and creativity. Each guest will have their own bed, creating a comfortable and restful space to recharge throughout the weekend.
Room layouts and bedroom styles vary by location, and while private rooms and bathrooms cannot be guaranteed, every effort is made to thoughtfully assign rooms and keep groups together whenever possible.
Linen availability may vary by venue. Some locations provide linens, while others may require guests to bring their own. Specific details will always be included on the retreat information page and in the supply list sent prior to the retreat. Guests should plan to bring their own toiletries, including towels.
Guests with specific sleep-related needs—such as requiring access to an outlet for a CPAP or other accommodations—are encouraged to reach out via email in advance so arrangements can be made whenever possible.
Shared spaces are designed to be comfortable and respectful for all guests, with quiet hours encouraged in the evenings to support rest and relaxation.
